iphone insurance?

With alot of people unlocking their iphones and using them on different networks and such. is there anyway to get their own insurance on the phone that isnt thru the service providor? cause im about to activate my iphone but im thinking if i drop it or lose it or anything im screwed anyone do anything like this?
