RSD Lite v4.1 taking LONG time to flash

I have never flashed a phone before and am using RSD Lite v4.1 to flash new firmware to my v3xx. A couple tutorials stated that flashing generally shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to complete. However, my flash is going very slow only completing about 1% per minute. At this rate the flash will take over 1 1/2 hours to complete. Should I be concerned? The percent complete keeps going up (although slow) so I don't think the program/computer has frozen. I'm just worried I'm screwing up my phone and/or the battery will die before the process is complete. Thanks.
