Just a warning to those thinking of sending their Palm's back for broken screens/whatnot, granted this won't happen to everyone but did happen to me.
Broke my 680 screen about a month or so ago, and decided to have it repaired at Palm since it was only 2 mos only and didn't want do it myself. Initial repair phone call was very confusing, the person basically had no idea what I was talking about/how to do the the paperwork to get my phone repaired. Nonetheless, a repair order was generated and I was told 5-7 business days.
Well, ~20 days later and still no phone, repair status shows phone received on 9/5. So I call Palm, and they tell me my phone was sent for return and not repair, yet I was charged $215 dollars for it, and the phone was sent back wrapped in a copy of the Repair email, sans battery, box, back cover and styli. Now they have to attempt to locate my phone, which apparently they are not going to be able to do, then repair it and finally ship it back to me. The supervisor I spoke to basically admitted that if I had never called to check I would have never seen the phone again, and would have been charged $200 for my troubles.
Needless to say I'm not too psyched on Palm right now, just felt like venting/sharing so others may avoid my plight.
