iPhone knows area codes!?

What the heck! I received a call this afternoon and the number was not in my contact list. After the call I went to add it to an existing contact (by clicking the > arrow in recent calls) and it listed the number, followed by a city and state on the line below.
I was not aware the iPhone could do this! Is it getting that from caller ID or the net?

Nope. Not the iPhone, it's the caller ID system. I got 'cell phone VA' or whatever appropriate state on my home phone.

yea i noticed that when a number I didn't know called. it's a nice feature, I wish I could default it in my contact list so I know where everyone's # is from.

Actually if you read the last link I posted, it *is* the iPhone. The info is stored in a database and you can edit it.
