after poking around in MPT some more i figured something out, you can transfer MP3's to the phone and have them be ring tones, you just can't use the ring tone making part of the program lol. I was able to transfer an MP3 to the phone via bluetooth and via USB cable, using MPT(I have the latest version which automatically found my phone). What you do is once in MPT, click on "Multimedia Studio" this brings up a bigger window, in that window click on "File transfer studio." In that you will have two main columns, one labeled "my computer" and the other labled "mobile phone." In the one labeled "mobile phone" make sure you are at the top of the file structure (can't click the up button any more). Once there click on the "audio" folder. If you chose the right one you'll see some more folders listed, like stp and voicerecords, etc... don't click any further. In the other column you'll see three tabs, select the "My pc" tab, and navigate to where the mp3 is you want to transfer. Once you find it just click the button in the middle of the colums with the arrow pointing to the phone, and it should copy it.. once done close out of MPT, and disconnect your phone from the usb cable, and you'll see your mp3 is listed as being assignable. The same directions go for bluetooth as well, just make sure you close out of MPT, it does some post proccessing when closing. ALso, i noticed that the picture MPT shows for the phone is wrong, don't be alarmed lol.. |

2: according to motorola's razr2 site, your V9m has around 128MB on board memory, out of which the end user gets to use around 60-80MB, so yeah you'll be able to put some music on it (key word being "some" here lol) and yes you'll be able to assign it as a ringtone |

on a side note, have you been able to get opera mini 4 beta 2 to work on the v8? |

and V9m doesnt have the whole "USB Settings - Storage Device" option? where it'll just show up as a removable disk and you can dump mp3's into the "Music" folder? MPT was always a nuisance since my v3/v3i days. |
