1.1.1 fixes the white dots?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Some folks over at MacRumors are stating that 1.1.1 has fixed the issue where they had white dots on their 7 series screen when the brightness was turned up.

Anyone here notice that effect as well?

Posted this on the main thread on 1.1.1.

Definitely fixed the "problem".

Sorry I missed it in the main thread, but very cool none-the-less.

*GASP* Is it true?! Will we finally see an end to the whole "7 series screens are DEFECTIVE!!!!!" threads?

Posted by: aristoBrat

No, no. It's all smoke and mirrors. Hiding the defect will undoubtedly have a side-effect, like using more battery or something like that.

This is absolutely true. The 1.1.1 firmware has eliminated the white dots pattern on my 7 series phone.

White Dots??? I must not have seen this before, but I have what appears to be a dead pixel, a small white dot close to the middle of the screen??? Not sure if they are one in the same

Alot of times what appears to be a dead pixel is actually a spec of dust between the lcd panel and the light behind the panel. If you move the phone around and it goes away at different angles, its a dust speck. If it's real bright and on all the time, its a dead pixel.

The white dots are gone on my June 29th 7 series iPhone with the 1.1.1 update. Great update by the way, keep them coming Apple.

I have a 7 and mine had very minimal 'white dots'.... honestly barely noticeable unless being like 5mm from the screen or using magnifying glass... now completely gone.... Black is so completely rich and black... i always thought the 7 series was amazing (and crisper than the 5)... now it's even moreso!!!

peace

noticing the one side-effect of no more white dots (even though i could hardly see them before)... is a text that isn't as sharp as it used to be (especially black text on white background)... so essentially the 7's are rendered more like 5's (which had less sharp - softer looking text all along)... since the dots really wasn't a problem on my 7... i somewhat wish the screen was back to the way it is - with tack sharp text..... but oh well.... no biggie... all the other 1.1.1 improvements are great...

peace
