SSR's...

SSR's... the only position where working is optional and attitude is mandatory!

My SSR does maybe 25 mins of work, whithin her 8 hour shift.
Her day:
walk to door
"Hi welcome to AT&T"
"___________ will be able to help you" (points to rep)
walk back to desk, leaving customer in middle of sales floor
get back online

WTF? no offering help, no changing sims for us, no transfering contacts, no giving number is XBM/INSUR, no offering to look up upgrade eligibility, no offering to help with accessory search, no taking bill payments, or answering questions... NOTHING

ITS SALES SUPPORT... SUPPORT SOMETHING! lol

that you for joining the team, SSR's, and taking up oxygen.

I am not saying all SSR's suck, but this is our 2nd, and the other one had the same problem.

Anyone notice this, or does my SSR just suck?

we have an SSR that doesn't even work on the sales floor. she does all the things that our ASM is suppose to do (paperwork, inventory, etc). so dumb. basically our ASM doesn't do jack now that he hired the SSR.

We had an SSR that did everything for us, even sales. He would pass it off to an available rep. Sim transfers, billing, and customer service...he did it all. I miss that *******.

LOL! thats funny. maybe you should have your manager step up thier game and start pointing out duties. Dont you see a pattern here. You say its your second SSR and same result. You need to talk to management about that. I do everything here also. From cleaning the windows to changing lightbulbs, paperwork, sales, support, etc, etc ,etc. Me being a previous RSC I know how it feels to do all the stuff that didnt pay me comissions so i pro actively offer to do the little things for the RSC's so they can focus more on sales. Unfortunately its abused and it leaves alot of reps dumping the basic tasks off to the SSR's like, VM, Basic troubleshooting, etc. Its unfortunate that SSR's a looked to do everything at some locations. Mainly the junk, like returns, troubleshooting, customer complaints etc. Remember that hourly pay you guys get, yeah well that should go into changing sims, transfering contacts, giving number is XBM/INSUR, looking up upgrade eligibility, offering to help with accessory search, taking bill payments, answering questions. Pretty much everything your JOB description requires. Sorry to sound bitter but most people have no idea what the SSR position intailes. Its pretty sad when even management isnt sure what to do with them other than use them for thier own work

We have 2 ssr's at our store. The first one comes in late, takes an hour or two to change into work attire, then snack time, then an hour nap in his truck, back to work for 30 min. Play some games on the internet, hide in the back room for another hour and then duck out for lunch. his greatest accomplishment for a work day is hanging new media banners in the windows and taking out the empty shipping boxes to the trash. And last of all one hour of "working" features if you know what I mean. The second one spend more time complaining why our ASRM won't make him an RSC, just what our store needs another shady rep. If I were the SM or the ASM i'de have them both fired.

you know, you don't need to hire ssr's. if you're so mad about it and frustrated maybe you have bad hiring skills....

new SSR here. anybody else?

yeah our SSR is dope. he greets, helps, finds accessories, etc. def a good guy

a good SSR is suppose to be able to do EVERYTHING that an ASM does.

and actually, most SSRs in my area are considered part of management and are looked at as third in charge behind the SM and ASM.

however, like someone posted earlier, maybe their manager needs to take a refresher course on how to properly hire and train the RIGHT SSR.
