Iphone post 1.1.1 without1.1.1 cannot unlock

I have spent 7 hours on this already, i searched every place on line and have decided to see if anyone could help me.

I purchased my Iphone 4 gig this morning. I did the secret *#1234xxxx* (whatever that was) and the result was that it was not a 1.1.1 phone. it is either 1.01 or 1.0.2. I assume it is 1.0.1 because whenever i get to the Ibrickr application it tells me to update the firmware. I have done so by doing the restore and tricking it (shift) into using the 1.0.2 file that is all over the forums.

I have Itunes 7.4

When i run Ibreakr it says "free your phone". I click on that, and then it says that i still need to update the firmware. and then check again.

How can i possibly update the firmware if that doesnt work? It says that it updated the firmware when i (shift) my way into restore. and it gives the countdown . I am at wits end. I have done it over and over. can anyone help? if i do the restore from Itunes, it tries to give me 1.1.1

Can you confirm the firmware in the phone?

03.12.06_G Is firmware 1.0.0
03.14.08_G Is firmware 1.0.1 and 1.02
04.01.13_G Is 1.1.1

03.14.08_G is what shows when i type that.

go to settings/general/about to find your firmware version. Then try restoring to 1.0.2 again.

i am having the same exact problem. Been trying to get iBrickr to free my friends phone but it keeps giving me the same problems as the OP..

As long as it is not the 1.1.1 showing the 04.01.13_G, i finally figured it out. not sure how it worked, but search for the file Winstallergui.exe.. it allow me to jailbreak the phone and then ibrickr worked great and everything was perfect!! hope that helps..

Well I have firmware version 1.0 and I can't get the frigging 1.0.2 on my phone. :-(

Anyone have any idea how to get it to work or how to use ibrickr on my phone with just 1.0?

Oh and btw I downloaded the file from ibrickr to go to 1.0.2. but I'm using Windows Vista and the location they say to put the file doesn't exist.

can you use the shift and click restore method in itunes on vista? i have xp.
