Unlocked Blackberries (curve, Pearl,etc) For Nextel?

I have Nextel (Sprint) service but I know their Blackberries are lagging as opposed to what else is out there. I see there has been an explosion of UNLOCKED phones, and I was wondering (since I never had one), could I get a UNLOCKED Blackberry Pearl or Curve? If so, could I use it with my Nextel service?

Unfortunately, no, because the radios inside of these BlackBerry devices are GSM only. You have to use a BlackBerry with an iDen radio on Nextel.
