My husband dropped my Motorola V625 phone into water for a split second. The phone immediately worked, however, I took battery & SIM card out and placed everything in a bag of rice for several days (he saw that tip on TV). Everything seemed to work for a moment...but it cannot register, on a regular basis, to our Service Provider (Rogers in Canada), and keeps flipping back to 'Emergency Only' Service. When I do search for 'available networks', sometimes it does, but most often it says 'Network Busy'. When it does find the 2 networks available here, and I attempt to 'register', it will not actually do it. Sometimes when I take the battery out and put it back in, it will initially be on the Rogers Network, but then soon after is showing 'Emergency Only'. I have reset to Factory Settings...nada. Any ideas/suggestions please...as we are still a ways away from being allowed a hardware upgrade!!!

do you ever get signal ?

Posted by: 4kaz

yes...usually when it first turns on...but the next time I look at it has invariably switched to 'Emergency Only'

on the battery, there's a strip which is sensitive to water. if you remove that, it should work perfectly. but you have to understand that the strip is there for safety reasons.

My husband and I have the same phones...his battery works perfectly in my phone. How would that strip affect its ability to pick up a signal?
