I have made the mistake of setting up XPress Mail for my Gmail account thinking it was the way to go, only to find out setting up via POP is the way to go. I cannot get XPress Mail to quit checking my mail constantly so I want to just get rid of it. How can I do that without losing everything on my phone doing a reset, which I don't know how to do either.
Can someone please help me step by step to get rid of the GMail account or XPress Mail altogether?
Thanks.

I have done a search not finding any specifics on here BTW.

Depends on how you have it set up. But uninstalling it in theory should do the trick. But in my case, it was more than that. You need to first unsubscribe from XPressMail on the AT&T site first. There's a good chance you will continue to get SMS messages once you remove XPressMail from your phone. That's sort of like a "ping" from the XPressMail servers. I had to call AT&T and tell them to remove me altogether from their XPressMail servers. And it took 2 call, 4 xfers each to get a AT&T tech rep who knew what to do...

Good luck. It's possible, just an ordeal.

If you continue to need help, let me know. I have detailed instructions on how to tell the rep to do it if need be.

How do I unsubscribe via the AT&T site? This is all new to me, my first Smartphone and so far besides XPress Mail I LOVE it!

Ok, i got it, I cannot believe I was missing the whole remove programs option in settings lol. I think the lack of sleep lately has gotten to me. Thanks for your help.

Cool, glad you were able to get it removed. Hopefully, it uninstalled cleanly and you don't get a bunch of random SMS messages from the XpressMail servers...I sense you are spending too much time playing with your new toy and not enough sleeping. That's how it starts. Its a slippery slope Be careful!
