I have an iphone unlocked with iphonesimfree software, using a AT&T blue SIM (before cingular) on $99.00 charter plan and 1.0.2.
Can I upgrade to 1.1.1without any challenges??? Or should I stay where I am.

Stay where you are. Updating to 1.1.1 will brick the phone, and re-lock it.
