Hi There

I have a v300 here but i'm guess its too old to do anything really interesting with but wonder if any of the newer phones would be up to this..

Basically, it would be handy to have the phone act as a USB bridge between two devices (eg, compact flash and a USB hard disk) and allow previewing of images. My thoughts are this could work very well as a on-the-road backup device for compact flash and other media.

Any thoughts from the phone techies? Possible?

Also, just curious, what processor is in a V300? I'm looking for detail technical specs but haven't been able to find any.

Why bother... USB memory dongles are so dirt cheap and provide max xfer speed. Going through the phone, u know the anemic xfer speed?

If u wanna make use of the phone transflash... (again dirty cheap), can get a USB-SD adapter for $10 bux a eBay... Probly cheaper just to get a USB dongle.

Thanks, but you're missing my point.

I want to be able to copy from a compact flash card to a hard-disk without a computer.

I realise using a cellphone will be pretty anaemic, but hey if you don't ask these things, you never know right?
