Blackberry Curve configuration

Hi There,
I know completely unlocked/non branded phones can have the internet settings put on them and you'll be able to change the internet/data settings which will enable it to work with your carrier of choice. I've found a configurator on nokia's website as well as one for Tmobile. However, i haven't found one for AT&t.

Anyways, here's my question. If i'm able to get a hold of a blackberry curve from Tmobile. Will i be able to unlock it and use it with AT&t? Will i loose any features? is there an auto configurator for AT&T? I know AT&t has a curve, but i can get a tmobile one for a good deal. The phones seem to be fairly similar except the AT&t has a PTT feature while the Tmobile one doesn't. However, the Tmobile one has wifi on it according to the website. But it also says something along the lines of me having to use the Tmobile hotspot wifi? That part confuses me... can i access any wifi with it? or does it have to be a Tmobile hotspot wifi?

thanks!!

Tell me where you are going to get a good deal on the 8320 from TMobile, and I'll answer the questions...

I'd like a good deal as well.

Do you have connections?

Dont you already have a curve? Anyways... the good deal was from a friend who didn't want theirs anymore. So technically it's a good deal since the thing is like new. It's not that expensive of a phone to begin with, so it's not like it's a huge bargain or anything.

Yes you can unlock the phone and use it on ATT.

Yes, that part i already knew. I meant was there a way i could configure the internet settings automatically via a phone configurator so that i did not loose any of my internet features or network dependant features.

These will be setup automatically when the Blackberry is registered on Tmobiles network. You may have to load the Tmobile version of the BB handheld software which is widely available.

It is not like some regular phones where you need to put in custom MMS settings, etc. Blackberry's are VERY EASY to move from network to network (provided they are unlocked.)

As Scotty347 says the BB isn't like other devices. You don't need to configure it. The service books handle all this for you and they are automatically pushed to your BB when it registers on your carrier's network, assuming that you have the requisite BB data plan in place. There's nothing to set. That's a huge selling point that people always overlook.

He's referring to the T-Mobile proxy "hack". It allows you to get full service internet for the cost of a lower tiered "data plan". I've not heard of this with AT&T.

Make sure the seller cancels their BIS account along with the BB dataplan and voice service on the phone. Other wise you will not e able to have Internet or email.
