I only added ringtones, will it brick my phone?

I only added ring tones by changing file extentions. Now if I update to the latest firmware will it brick my phone or will I just loose the ringtones?

I really want the louder volume. I can't hear well at all on the handset.

honestly....just do a restore to be safe..then update...thats what i did and everything went smoothly

+1. although I did do a "straight" update on my wife's iPhone with the ringtone file extension trick and all went well. she just couldn't select her custom ringtone...

It will not brick your phone. Mine still works; however, like previously stated, your tones will not be transferred at this time.

iBrickr jailbreaks your phone. I would say restore though. I'm not sure if it's necessary but "better safe than sorry" right?
