Getting "The answering modem has disconnected..." on PPC6700

This happens when I attempt to connect to the internet. If I do a soft reset of the phone, I can usually connect for one session. But once I disconnect and try to connect later, I get the same error.
I read other posts on here and most seemed to suggest a problem with the way the account is set up. I spent an hour on the phone with tech support tonight. She did several things, checked the account, reprovisioned internet service, did a couple of other things and it still happens.
The only other thing she could think of was doing a hard reset, but I really don't want to do that unless it is absolutely necessary. I have to figure out how to save all my data and settings before I do that.
Is there anything else anyone has done when this happens that has helped?

Thanks!!!

Hard Reset is the First Line of Defence; It works 100% of the Time; if the handset hasn't been dropped or liquid spilled on it.

Re-Provisioning the phone ain't gonna do ****.

If Hard Rest Fails;
Call Service Provider and Ask to Reset MRU Entries; If They Can't Do It; Contact UTSI.

If that fails? Service?

Thanks utbaby!

For some reason I can't find much, but whats the best (easiest) way to save all my settings and contacts and everything else I have stored on the phone to easily retrieve after a hard reset?
