Even if they do come out with the Blackjack2, I really doubt it would be anytime soon. Most of the stuff I've seen online about it is all rumors anyways.

I would wait for the WM6 upgrade that should be out real soon, to see if that makes the device any better. Especially since you wan't to stay out of contract, it'd be a lot cheaper to buy the blackjack now, then pay the high price of getting a BJ2 with the no contract price.

Well the blackjack is a real good phone. I really love it. Your kinda in between a rock and a hard place. Everything is a guessing game. Most of those "rumors" are real and phones that are being released soon (several months).

I bought a blackjack in July and still love it. Recently I saw the Samsung i780 which is the new version of the blackjack....

So you know where I'm spending my money.

Although in your situation I don't know what I would do. You can do it 2 ways. Either buy a New blackjack with a 2 yr contract for $79. Get it unlocked. Enjoy it. Wait for the i780 (like me), then get the Blackjack replaced (warranty exchange) and sell it on ebay. Unlocked Blackjacks go for some $$. Take that money and buy you a i780 straight out so you don't have to upgrade your contract.
