is it possible to edit the pda's registry from a desktop PC?

If so, how is it done and using what program?

I tried downloading one of the programs used to edit the XV and my PC would not open or run it.

I have phm on my pc........ haven't figured out yet if I can edit from my pc or even how to get this program onto my ppc

probably a good sign I should not be the one to fool with it's registry but if I can get it on the phone........ I am sure I can find some help with it.

also have the RegEditCE in a zip file on my pc as well but this is the program that my pc will not open, so I'll assume it can only be used on the ppc
