HELP! Am I bricked?

I downloaded 1.1.1 by mistake, not realizing iBrickr wouldn't work. So I followed the instruction to go back to 1.0.2 and now no matter what I do all I get is the "connect to itunes" message saying I need to restore.

So I got fed up and said "screw it, I'll just live with 1.1.1" but now it won't restore! I get an error every time.

Yes it was previously unlocked with iBrickr on a PC.

oh, I guess it was jailbroke. I'm on AT&T. I used iBrickr for ringtones, apps, etc.

I upgraded to 1.1.1 and the phone worked fine. I then wanted to go back to 1.0.2 so I could use iBrickr again, and now it's stuck in this cycle of turning off and back on, going right to the screen saying to connec to itunes. But when I try to restore on itunes, I get "error 1604".

I have gotten error 1604 before and to fix that I disconnected the iPhone from the PC and then clicked on "start" then "run" and type services.msc and then in the services screen restart the "Apple Mobile device". After that re-connect your iPhone and it should restore.

i got 1604... i rebooted the phone and the computer and i was able to restore fine

what OS are you using?

I got it guys! I gave up for a while, but went back and tried it again the next day and it restored just fine. I guess restarting the PC helped somehow.

In the meantime I was using my old HTC 8525 that I've been hanging onto and I decided that I can never give up my iPhone no matter what features it's missing!! I found myself laughing at how difficult the touch screen was to use on the 8525.
