prepping and extending li-ion battery life question

Ok, so I've done a few searches on google, this site, etc about how to prep and extend battery life for li-ion batteries. Unfortunately I haven't read a consistent message, sounds like there are too many "theories" and not enough hard facts....so maybe some of you can help

I just bought an extended battery for my PN-820 and want to make sure I'll be getting the most out of it.

I've read a post by a user on hofo and @ RAZR Battery that one should let their battery get low before charging it. Their logic being that it will reduce the total number of charge cycles used per given time period vs if you charged it up every night.

The other school of thought was via a google search; I came upon this site:
unlike razrbattery.com this one is actually worth a read: How to prolong lithium-based batteries

he says:
"A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges."

so, in your experiences what have you found works for you? tips? maybe I missed a great link in the FAQs?

Thanks in advance,

I don't worry about it. Am not going to change my usage pattern to save a few "potential" bucks.

With RAZR V3 replacement batteries going for about $6 USD it hardly makes sense to even mess with changing your habits to accommodate battery life.
