Do you buy it because it's an Internet tablet or a widescreen iPod?

So, what's your opinion?

Widescreen iPod wasn't important to me when I bought it. Even if it had a iPod classic sort of interface, I would have been happy. My main reasons for buying it were the amazing browser interface and convergence (phone + internet device + iPod).

I haven't bought one yet, but the thing that keeps making me come back to wanting one over something else (a Blackberry, Treo, or waiting on the Centro) is the complete internet capability of the thing.
I'm sort of putting my faith in Google to get its online apps working in a more integrated fashion on the device, since I make extensive use of Gmail and Google Calendar. though I suppose I could begin to use the on-phone calender and email app once I actually start using the thing.
Still, the ability to use WiFi (something sorely missing in the Centro and other palm devices) is a big plus since I can just carry the phone somewhere (parents' house for example) and use it for internet if I'm there rather than jumping on their PC or touting my laptop around. This is particularly true since I rarely do any actual work (word processing, etc.) in those situation, so it being a more fully-featured internet terminal is turning out to be one of the main features of the device for me and part of its appeal.
Then I look at all the 3rd-party apps available for all the other smartphones in the world and sigh - the decision is very difficult.
I'd still use my Video iPod as my primary player since I mainly listen to music on my long car commute and the regular iPod is fine for that, but I might actually start caring about downloading some video podcasts on the iPhone (whereas I just don't bother with them or download the audio-only versions of them - if one is available - right now).

Answer; yes.
Not the greatest poll mate.

all of the above. The question should be would you have bought it if it was ONLY an Internet device or a widescreen iPod! Then my answer would be no.

i just bought it because it was a cool touch screen phone. but if i had to choose one of your 2 options i would say internet. i rarely use the ipod since im usually in my car.

Add an option for convergence device and I'll choose it. I routinely carried a phone, an Ipod, and (depending on which phone I was using at the time), a PDA device. All now rolled into one, manageably sized package from a company I like.

Yeah, poll isn't too good. If you want to go by which one I use more, you can say the internet. The question would be, would I have bought it and stayed with it without either or? Don't think so, but if I have to choose one, internet.
