While waiting for my usb cable to arrive in the mail I decided to read everything I could find on seem editing my VZW V9m. I think that was a mistake because I'm more confused than ever. lol

Software I have available to me...
MSU 1.11.08
P2KCommander 4.9.D for V9m
P2KSeem4V710
PST 7.2.5
RadioComm 11.3.2
RSD CDMA General 5.1.6
MotoDev Drivers 2.9.0

My computer is running Vista. I am hoping to enable my phone to surf WAP trough hacktherarzDOTcom's proxy and need to enable 2742 offset 0018 bit 5. Could someone walk me through my first seem edit?

girst install the p2kdrivers and make sure that you can connect the phone with p2kcommander.

next go to seem old dialog and download seem 2742_0001 to your computer. then back a back up of it in case of problems later.

then open p2kseemv710 and point to the folder where you have download seem 2742. you could do it directly from your phone but since you are new this way you will not accidently mod or make other seerm changes by accident.

next navigate to offset 0018, then use bit manipulator to open bit 5, make sure there is a check mark in bit 5, save, then save the modified seem before exiting p2kseem. It will overwrite the originial seem that is why I said make a back up of the one you origially saved to your computer.

then using p2kcommander, seem old dialog load the modified seem back to your phone and then click restart to restart your phone and you should be able to use the proxy.

Thanks for the step by step...was a bit nervous about doing it and bricking my phone. Everything went well until I tried to write the seem to the phone. P2KCommander gave me a seem write failed error. Any suggestions?

upload it 2 times and restart the phone and the seem will be installed. p2kcommander sometimes gives that error but it still installs the seem.

It has something to do with the seem reader for p2k05phones.

I encounter the error from tie to time.

Not really that is a new phone and they are still building the seem database for both GSM and CDMA versions as they are being discovered.
