The reason you cannot put games on the P168 is because it does NOT have java.

I found good directions for setting up mms and browser for a couple bucks on ebay - worked good for me - just do a search for “cect internet p168 mms” should find it still… good luck

Yes to both questions.

Hi, like another member, I'm having trouble accessing the Internet.
I love my new CECT p168. The phone is a blast. It has been all I expected except for the Internet problem. I've contacted T-Mobile and upgraded my service so I can surf the Internet. In the process of setting me/p168 up, they tried, then got stuck, and finally referred me to this forum (you people must be very good for a carrier to direct me here).
This is as far as they got:
I was guided to "Entertainment", then "Services", then "Data Account", then "GPRS", where T-Mobile had me delect all of the preset accts. Then I was directed to select a position (I picked #8) and name the account "T-Mobile GPRS", next APN "wap.voicestream.com", and then I was told to leave the User Name and Password blank. And that is were they couldn't help me any further.
Some of you must know what I need to do next and tell me what the procedure is for me to access the 'Net. thanks

Here is the setting for MMS and the web this for tmo only. Good luck

APN: wap.voicestream.com
IP address: 216.155.165.050
Data bearer: GPRS
Username: [none]
Password: [none]
Authentication type: Secure
Connection security: Off

APN is the GPRS Access Point Name.
T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE modem settings

T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE network settings when using a device as a GPRS "modem", that is, when "tethered" to another device. Examples include connection via Dial Up Networking (DUN) Bluetooth profile, or via Universal Serial Bus (USB). These settings should be useful for T-Mobile Internet users.

APN: internet2.voicestream.com
Username: voicestream
Password: [none]
SMTP server: myemail.t-mobile.com

APN is the GPRS Access Point Name.
T-Mobile GPRS/EDGE modem settings for T-Mobile VPN users.

Users of T-Mobile's Virtual Private Networking (VPN) Internet option should substitute the following APN:

APN: internet3.voicestream.com

T-Mobile ISDN settings

T-Mobile ISDN settings for terminals (e.g., phone handsets). This is an ISDN dial-up number for WAP use only. Some items are possibly Nokia-specific. I have found the authentication type can be either Secure or Normal.

Dial-up number: +1 913 244 0821
Data call type: ISDN
Data call speed: 14400
IP address: 10.168.200.50
Data bearer: GSM data
Username: wap
Password: [none]
Authentication type: Secure
Connection security: Off

T-Mobile WAP services settings

T-Mobile WAP services (t-zones) settings

got a fresh cect p168+ (with the 850) and was wondering if there are any hacks or methods for increasing the MP3/custom ringers to greater than 5?

have googled, joined forums and read for hours- can't find a thing and thought I'd just ask at this point.

everything else is pretty straight forward- so far no complaints!

TIA,

Mr.Conviviality

You can also find user manual for CECT P168 (in english, french, chinese, italian and german) here : http://www.geek-asia.com/test/test-gsm/cect-p168/

It may be helpful for basic questions about this mobile phone

I just bought the cect p168 a few days ago and have t-mobile. I follwed the internet settings instructions for the $19.99 plan. I used google.com as my homepage. I can get on the 'net now, but some of the letters and type are displayed in odd characters. Any suggestions? thanx.

Just an FYI(might already be known) if you log into your tmobile account(via your computer), do a search for t zones and the 3rd or 4th result should say something about configuring your phone for MMS and tzones. Select it and continue, choose "Configure your device", then for your phone choose the Nokia 6600. Choose "Tzones WAP" then enter the code and your number. You should then recieve a message "Install setting?", install it(gonna need the pin from tmobiles website). Choose an unused WAP and Data slot. Then go Home, Services, WAP, Settings, edit profile, the select "WAP", "WAP" again, then enter 216.155.165.050.
That should set you up...any questions you can email me at traxxasmanATcox.net
