No Headphone Jack with the Tilt?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I am really surprised that the Tilt does not even have a 2.5mm headphone jack. The Quick Start Guide shows the USB connector as a "Sync connector/Stereo headset jack." I am not sure how this connection can double as a headset jack - what am I missing there?

What is everyone else doing for headphones? Stereo BT?

Thanks!

You can get a mini USB to 3.5mm headphone adapter off of ebay. Here's a thread about it:

Or you can buy a bluetooth headphone that support A2DP.

Sweet - exactly what I was hoping for. Thanks aznjunkie.

With the 8525 it came with the headset that fit the USB connectoer at the bottom. Either ATT or HTC got stingy and didn't give it to us.

The headphone (and case) came with the Kaiser. Guess ATT decided the customer should pay for it.

Where Can I buy the OEM Corded Headset??

I assume an AT&T store or the AT&T web site. But I imagine like all accessories they'll ream you on the price. It stinks that they didn't include one.
Me personally I may just get the adapter so I can use my (expensive) ear buds for music/TV, and use my Jawbone bluetooth for handsfree calling.

Anyone know a good site to get a mini-usb adapter so I can use my own headphones

neTimes has an eBay store and i have gotten several adapters from them, all with great results. i was skeptical at first, but they are actually pretty cheap and work well. they do come from hong kong, so shipping is 2-3 weeks, but well worth the wait...

Stingy? That's debatable. The USB headphones that came with the 8525 were a waste of resources. Everyone who orders a 8925 has a set of headphones that are without a doubt better than those with the 8525 so the question should either be should ATT/HTC include a pair of headphone better than those pathetic 8525 headphones or whether ATT/HTC should have included the adapter to save the end user the time/trouble of doing a quick ebay transaction...

I agree. An adapter is the least they could do.
I think the assumption is that everyone uses bluetooth now (no need for wired.)

However, the paradox here is that there's a music playing plug in, promos in the box and in the software to encourage you to buy and subscribe to music downloads, but there's no way to plug flippin' headphones in to the thing.

It's like selling an iPod with a non-standard headphone jack, no included adapter, and no adapters at the store.

I checked the AT&T site, no tilt headphone adapters that I could find.
Ebay it is.... for everyone.

I wonder how they can get away with not including a handsfree kit in Washington State ... since it's now completely illegal to use a cell phone and drive a car without one.

I have a lovely bluetooth headset for purchase right here, sir. Would you like to include that with your order?

California goes hands free next year. I'm dreading that day. I guess I'll be paying a lot of tickets.
J/K, I love my jawbone.

Easy don't use your phone while driving. Then you won't be one of those guys going 50 in the fast lane and oblivious to the people behind them honking their horns!

Also, here in California they are banning any driver under 18 from using a cell phone with or without a handset or handsfree.

^ yeah, i dont know how theyre gonna enforce that. they cant tell a person's age by looking at them from a distance through two sets of car windows. unless its completely obvious like a 10 year old driving, which is a whole other issue. many people look young for their age, and many people look old for their age. so how on earth are they going to decide who should be pulled over for using their phone?

Show me the statute or code in Washington that makes it illegal to sell a cell phone without a hands-free kit...

technically it already has a hands-free option. It has speakerphone.
