Where is the HSDPA icon on the Tilt?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

The manual indicates it should be in the Connections menu, but it's not on mine. The Network Cards icon is also missing.

ATT removed it for the tilt. It might be in some directory on the phone (just like internet sharing), but I wouldn't know. My tilt has it though because I flashed the ROM to HTC Kaiser ROM.

How do you like the Kaiser ROM in comparison?

If I did the same, I'm guessing I would not use Xpressmail for email? If not, how do you get push email?

How do I install the Kaiser ROM and did you run into any problems?

Main problem is that several characters do not match up with the keyboard (@*!%, etc)

If you're talking about the "H" icon when HSDPA data is in use, there's a registry tweak - thanks to HiwayFuzz for the tip:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\OEM\RIL and set EnableHSDPAIcon to 1

Kaiser ROm is so much better. This ROM comes microsoft direct push, but you should still be able to download xpress mail. As stated before, the problem I have is keyboard layout, but that should be fixed soon.

I have the same issue. I'm only getting download speeds about 120k/sec. I have yet to see any icon besides "3G". I know I'm in a 3G area. Any way to confirm that it's running? I should be getting MUCH faster downloads.

I have been having this exact problem, slow download speeds.

My Blackjack was consistently over 800kbit/second and the Tilt can barely reach 130kbit/second.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

i just tested the bandwidth on my tilt and its only at 120kilobits/second.

I put my sim back in my BlackJack and was still getting slow speeds.

Recently I'm getting 375kbit/sec, which is better, but no where near what it usually is.

I suspect AT&T network issues.

At home (1bar on HSDPA) I was getting in the 350kbps-ish. At work (4bars on HSDPA) where I usually get 600kbps-ish I was getting 125kbps!!!
I'm thinking this HAS to be AT&T network issues. I'll have to do a Pepsi challenge with my Treo 750 (WM6 with HSDPA) just to make sure I'm getting the same speeds.
If so, the so be it. But if I'm getting good speeds on the Treo and still getting bad speeds on the Tilt, then the Tilt is going back. I hope no, though, it's finanally starting to grow on me.

I'm in Salt Lake City, and since Monday I've been getting nothing bu crap 3G performance, with full signal strength. I've tried at work and at home. I've also double checked by using both my BlackJack, Titl, and teathered.

During the day I can barely break 120kbit/sec but at night it slowly starts to improve upon where at midnight it can sometimes break 800 or 900kbit/sec.

Anyone else still having 3G speed issues?

Maybe this should be a new thread.
