Can't get windows to recognize black motorola Q

My friend gave me a Sprint Motorola Q and I'm trying to hook it up to PST. Windows will not recognize the phone as a Motorola USB Modem, it will recognize it as a "Motorola Q USB Modem." <-- Not sure if this matters. PST is not able to detect the phone through its COM port, even when I try to set PST in manual mode. The COM port it's installed on, is grayed out in the manual selection.
I have tried every driver I can locate for the last 6 hours. I'm trying to activate this phone on the verizon network.
ANY IDEAS?? HELP??

it is recognizing the modem because motorola Q modem is correct but PST is outdated it will not recognize newer phones.
Try googling RSDlite v 3.8 or higher, it should recognizt the Q since this software is being continually updated as new phones come out.
