Just wondering how many here have already flashed there Tilts with the HTC ROM. I will be taking care of this later today when I get home. I hate all the junk ATT has put in there (especially shareware programs).

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but would flashing your ROM void the warranty?

Well, technically, it does. But, you can always put ATT ROM back in there if you have to send the device back. BE AWARE that xda-devs have not found a way, yet, to install ATT ROM back. So, if you are not comfortable then wait for now!

Yes they do have a way I just saw it in that thread !!! When you UNLOCK CID that means you can flash any ROM on your device.

I guess I missed that part. I need to browse more often. Hehe!

Very interested in folks experience with this. Having never "flashed" a device's ROM before, I am hesitant...but if it is worth it, I will try it.

Question: if one is successful in doing this, is the phone then "unlocked?" As in, one could put another SIM in from another carrier and use it?

Nope

SIM unlock == ANY SIM card

CID unlock == ANY ROM image

EDIT: there is no known SIM unlock as of this writing

Soon I`m sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where in Texas did you get your tilt?

Gothcha. Thanks. Now I understand. Ok, can I ask one more noob question?

IF the HTC ROM has less "stuff" in it, does it give us more memory to play with or for the device to run on? Or is it just a matter of having the "stuff" that you want on the device within the ROM vs. adding it?

Thanks.

The ROM space is a tricky thing. Yes it gives you more space, but the allocated ROM space is usually the same, exept for the user usable portion. SO I guess to answer your question it should have more room.
