Blackberry Curve Dust Problem

Did anyone else have any problems getting dust into the screens of their Blackberry Curve? The right side of my phone had a "crick" type noise when you pressed against the black rubber part below the volume button and so I'm wondering if that's where the dust got in. I used a holster for my phone so it was only in my pocket once or twice, but it started accumulating dust in it.

I really liked the phone a lot. I traded it in for a RAZR 2 V9 because I read tons of forums online where people had the same problem: Dust getting in their screens (much like Motorola's old problem on the RAZR). I didn't want to swap it for a new BB Curve just to have it get dust, too.

I'm still within my 30 days of purchase so I can do a straight exchange and pay a difference, if there is any, so I'm wondering if anyone here has the dust problem... or if anyone knows if Blackberry or AT&T did anything to resolve this issue.

Thanks.

No one has experienced this at all? It's tempting to go back and return my RAZR 2.

I have dust with my Curve, along with a lot of other people. Some people have claimed that AT&T is replacing dusty Curves (with replacement models that supposedly do not have this issue). Google around, there's a lot of coverage on this topic.

There is a lot of this going around on Google searches. It didn't seem like AT&T or Blackberry are trying to address the issue, though AT&T are replacing units. Well, some corporate stores are from what I hear online. Others are being told to go through Blackberry's warranty exchange.

Yep. Dust on right side. I'm just dealing with it. I've had mine over 30 days and don't want to give mine up for a refurb.

You might be a lucky one. I had mine for three days and started getting dust in it. It was always in the holster, too.

You can buy a replacement screen lens for 4.95 and pull the old one off, clean it and pop the new one on.

I am at the point where I just open up the case and clean it every few weeks and put it back together. I can do it in under 3 minutes now, lol.

Really not much to it, two screws, the bottom clip and pull the faceplate off. There is a video here:

Does the 8310 suffer this dust problem? Does the 8820?
