Google Maps & Tilt GPS?

Anyone make it work? I just got the Media Max plan

Worked out of the box for me. Very cool.

Yeah. Just install google maps http://www.google.com/glm (for our viewers at home). Fire it up, check "track location" and voila.
Go to the "QuickGPS" application and download satellite data first, it'll make the GPS lock on in just a few seconds.

Works for me out of the box

Try searching for GPS and Tilt. There have been some issues because Google Maps' timeout time to wait for GPS signal is very short. So it doesn't always work (it gives an error and asks to retry or cancel). There are various workarounds in those other threads.

I can only say about maps on WM phones and while Google is good and displays traffic well. MS live search is better and now (last week/new WM version) Yahoo2go is much better. It links to your online Yahoo address book etc. and the map scrolls as you move. Google mobile maps does not!

I'm using a GPS receiver , but I get a fix in about 2-3sec. It seems to be faster if you zoom out then hit a fix.

Google maps scrolls just fine for me.

Menu->track location

If you tough the screen to manually scroll you have to re-select it however.

One of the best features of Live is the off-route calculation, can't believe that Google didn't include that essential feature in Google maps.

Sweet! Thanks everyone

I just tried track location, but it says "seeking gps satellites (0)" and is stuck.

Also I should be ok with Media max 200? I'll be browsing sites from the Tilt as well, just don't want to get in trouble.

That one Ill try,but for my money(it's free) Yahoo2Go(new one very different than the last one) YAHOO is the free bomb. Until one of them adds "send to phone" from any PC that is!

never mind, it works now! Initializing satellites is kinda slow but works.

Can't wait to try TomTom too

I don't know on phones, but the first time(cold fix) is slow and may take a few times because of timeout, but I would bet you get it quick next time...hell Google may even be saving your location for it! Scary.

Works perfectly as stated above.

The GPS pinpointed me within 20 feet of my position in just a few moments after I fired up the application for the first time. This is amazing!

I just tried it and it didn't work. timed out. Do you have to be outside to get this? I am on WiFi as well. Trying it again....
UPDATE!
Ok put it by the window and it found the sats just fine...

Tell me about it. I think googlr maps & wm live pinpointed me literally w/in 5 ft. I was in my room, & it showed me on the map but where my room is located in that certain part of the house. Really accurate
