(cough torrent cough)

Posted by: shadow8584

i have a sidekick id and its activated i went to danger.com and signed up and **** but they're tellin me i need a bndl

You cannot get a developer key without creating an application to prove you want a developer key for the right purpose.

Let me tell you know, free applications and ringtones... not the right purpose.

Posted by: shadow8584

yea i've figured that out...i wuz wonderin if sumbody can make and send me a bndl so i can submit it...i no it's askin a little much but i really want this, i'm tired of waistin $2.49 for a 15 sec. ringtone

Posted by: divinatum

Sorry. Noone is going to make you a bndl just so you can have free ringtones.

For a couple hundred bucks you can find a java coder.

Posted by: reas0n555

Just learn java and make an app, nobody is going to pass up getting a dev key for themselves,so that you can get a key.

ditto on what everyone else said, u should make an app, even if its not the worlds next mega super app... from reading the danger dev forums, they encourage u to use their examples as framework for ur own app, so there you go thats a start for ya...

Posted by: shadow8584

thanks 2 every1 that posted so far....so it seems like ima have 2 make my own app...does any1 know of a tutorial that'll show me how to do this

Posted by: angrymic

I'm sure if you look hard enough my friend Google will help you...

Just do a Yahoo! or Live search and you will find his site...

You can't. There is no set key out there. They are all created. I have had one for the sidekick 2 and 3. You need to be a legitimate Developer, not to say that you aren't. And yes, the whole free application and ringtones thing, kind of "out there", not to say your goal isn't completely unachievable, although it will be some serious hard work. But hey, I think it's a great idea, and if you need any more info send me a PM.

aight thanks, ima figure this thing out, and when i do im takin all of u to the top...LOL

Just like it was stated above you are going to need to make a application first.

haha dude stop. a tutorial on how to create your own app? i took java in college and i doubt id be able to make an app that danger will accept.

judging by the way you type, your coding wouldn't be great either. stop being lazy and make an app. maybe you'll make a useful one that we can all appreciate!

if you took java in college
& you can't make a good app who's being lazy? You have the know how but you aint using it!! Share what you know. Im humble enough to ask for help with this thing. But lets not go back and forth if we can't help each other.....fyi I took info processing in college so I know how to type I'm just not looking to pass an exam on this site

There are hundreds of programming tutorials on the internet. Just open google and type java tutorial and there are tons.

I would recommend buying a book, but guessing since you are too cheap to buy apps for your sidekick, you sure are hell aren't going to spend $20 on a good book.

My guess is you will never learn based off the simple fact that someone who isn't savvy enough to search out info on their own will never learn to program.

yeah i took intro to java. i guess that makes me a pro. i'm being lazy because i don't want to write a program for someone else? oh, sorry.

next time i'll be sure to write 100 programs so everyone can have a developer key. remind me.

A single college class doesn't teach you jack. Just like the title says, it introduces you. You can learn the same amount of stuff that a single college course teaches in less than a month.

Exactly. I took the class, and am able to program simple apps on JVM but my point is it is even hard for someone with formal java training to develop a program.

If you want, I have all of my old Java books if you would like to give it a shot. Just pay shipping.

I'm aware of the fact that it didn't teach me much. I just made that statement to say that I know the way I should type but I like my way better..

After reading this thread it seems as if getting an developer key from Danger is hard enough, but for the sake of completely extinguishing my hopes and dreams: Is is possible in anyway to obtain a developer key if you are using an unlocked sidekick, that is do not have a tmail account?
