Phone tools before porting and multiple users

I'm just coming over from Verizon. My wife, son and I all have new at&t phones and plan to port our Verizon numbers next week. I have two phone tools questions that I 'm hoping someone can answer.

1. If we start using Phone Tools before we port our phone numbers, will Phone Tools be able to recognize our phones once we have ported our Verizon numbers to our at&t phones?

2. I assume that the three of us should be able to use Phone Tools from our own Windows user accounts and that Phone Tools should keep things like address books and ring tones properly separated. Is this a valid assumption?
