What does hard reset do on PPC 6700?

I need to hard reset my 6700 to attempt to restore full internet access. I've never had to hard reset the 6700 before. I know it restores everything back to factory condition. But does it get rid of everything else like settings and contacts and such? I'm trying to figure out what I need to save elsewhere before I do this.

i think it does just that....puts it back to like when you bought it, so i would save everything!

It restores it to factory settings, erases everything you installed except ROM updates. When you sync again, yo ill be able to retore your contats and reinstall your programs.

Yeah, it restores EVERYTHING to factory - except ROM updates as David said. Just like computers do when you use restore disks - Everything will be gone.
