Southwest Florida

Any news on when southwest Florida might get 3G? I'm in the Fort Myers area.

Bump.

This is one of the most populated areas in FL, and we can't even get 3G. Very annoying.

How is the coverage on Captiva and Sanibel?

Still no 3G in this area.

How many threads are you going to start on this ?

Posted by: Greywolfmm

Apparently, just enough to annoy you.

Florida is one of most covered areas in terms of 3G, however, I do agree that it would be nice if they (att) decided to light up RSW (Fort Myers).

Not sure what I could add other than that it will eventually be turned on.

it was tested for a few hours today and should be permanently turned on within the next few days. RSW to naples down 75 and 41 are going to be initiated first with all of SWFL being completed some time in June.

That is good news. I wonder if the Cape Coral area will pick that up or if we'll have to wait until June.

Just noticed this morning that it's live.
I was at RSW and drove south to North Naples (Exit 111 I75) and had coverage.

Tethered to my PC I Get these speed results.

Just called my friend who lives right on 41 in Estero, which is between Fort Myers and Naples. His phone still says Edge.

Posted by: skyyguy

Still 3g for me. Maybe he needs to reboot. Or coverage is spotty. But I was watching my slingbox driving from RSW to Naples, passing Estero.

Posted by: Greywolfmm

He rebooted when I told him to check earlier. I work in Fort Myers and I didn't have 3G today at any time, although I was a little north of RSW. I'm sitting in Cape Coral now and don't have it.

I was at Gulf Coast last night and saw my phone switching back and forth between 3G and Edge. Hopefully soon. This area is one of the largest most populated, and we still don't have it.

MobiTv worked fine the entire time.
