tilt - pressing the same key twice in a row on the keyboard problem(?)

whenever i am typing on the slide-out keyboard, and i try to type two of the same letters in a row quickly, the second time i press it doesn't seem to register. kind of annoying to have to wait half a second to type the other letter. is this standard? for instance, when i type the word 'happy' it will turn out as 'hapy'.

edit: to clarify, it doesn't do it very often. it seems like only after typing the second letter does it do it, for the most part. i don't think its a keyboard issue because i can type things like sksksksksksksksks (alternating of any two letters, basically typing quickly in general) without it skipping any letters. it just seems like a really odd error prevention setting or something?

works fine on mine

try this test, type "ss ss ss ss ss ss ss ss" over and over, quickly. when i just did it, i had to go back because some of them came out 's' instead of 'ss'

still no problem on mine.

have you tried changing this?
Start->Settings->Buttons->Up/Down Control and make the delay short.

Does anyone else here find the keyboard on the tilt really annoying? Or is it just because I'm used to the BB? It feels really weird to type on that thing.

Same here.

I did at first... but I am getting used to it. I really like the strong tactile feedback on the Blackjack.

its just a matter of adjusting to the keyboard. this happens anytime you get a new device...

Not dropping any characters on mine, but it does take some getting use to.
Maybe there is a difference between holding it like a BB and laying the keyboard down flat on a table ?

I have been waiting for a replacement since 9/5.

I have several keyboard problems.

1. silver keys not clicky enough. If you don't hit the button dead center - no click you can press harder then multiple characters but still no click.

2. Key Backlight not even . I K M key very faint light.

3. space key crunchy. press once - feel three ckicks - only 1 space on screen

press the left or right side of the space key. its like two separate buttons connected with one bar thing. if you hit the middle it depresses both buttons so you get the "crunchy" sound.

Other Pda's with space keys (6700, moto Q ) have only on click.

cool. the tilt isnt a 6700 or Q.

Got a call from by ATT sales rep that my replacement phone was available for pick up. When I tested it the backlighting was more even and the space bar had the same crunchy sound. I guess this is the way they are designed. I just seems that other keyboards from HTC don't behave this way. Does everybody have a even backlight and 1 click space bar. These keys just don't have much travel. I could live with a fatter phone if it meant a more tactile keyboard.

Opps, meant to say

The problem I have with my keyboard is that the 's' key doesn't make a click sound and doesn't depress nearly as far as the other keys do. As a result, I instinctively hit it again because my thumb doesn't think it pressed. The result is a lot of double Ss in words. Are the keys on everyone else's Tilt's uniformly even in depressability and clickiness?
