I have a TILT with HTC ROM on it, I never tried it on the ATT rom. Very strange anyone else has this problem ?

Or could some one try this please ? Is it just me ?

Figured it out, when on HTC ROM it auto creates data connections. It creates 2, 1 called MY ISP and one called MEdia Net. I think VTAP and other programs such as gmail (java version) get confused and use the other conenction, which has a proxy setup.

I am having this issue too but I am using a g3 8125. I just can't get it to work.

It was internet settings on my make sure you dont have a proxy in your conenctions and you dont have 2 connections.

GO to Settings -- Connections -- Connections -- Advanced -- Select Networks -- First drop down box make sure that My ISP is selected then click ok up top.

Try it and see if it works now.

If it doesnt select MEdia Net as the default connection and edit it, remove proxy and see if it works now. If still no luck remove MEdia Net from one of the connections, by managing existing connections tap and hold and then click delete. Then set MY ISP as the default connection in advance --select networks.

Good Luck.

Thanks yozh! It works now. Sorry if this is a noob question but does it make a difference that I connect through MY ISP rather than media net (as far as charges or anything. Like what is the difference between the two)?

Posted by: yozh

no problem
the charges are the same really if you have a pda or using it as a modem you should use isp and for wap devices media net enjoy

Posted by: kpaznb0i

Well I mean I am signed up for media net but does it matter that I use ISP instead? Like they won't charge me or anything right?

My Tilt won't let me use anything but MediaNet with proxy on. If I disable the proxy or set it to My ISP, I get a pop up that says it cannot connect with current connection settings. If I bring up IE, the phone hard locks unless it's set to default settings.

Why would this be?

I had this problem to after trying to do what Yozh said. But if you look and select MY ISP you need to go into connects and advanced and under when you hit my isp hit the "select networks" button and click "cingular gprs" (well thats what it says for me) and then press ok and it should work.

Now back to the question. By using MY ISP like this will I get charged or anything like that? I know it might be a stupid question but just wondering since I have media net and what not.

Shouldnt get charged. But you can always change the AP to wap.cingular and not isp.cingular you wont see any diffrence. Search this forum and you`ll see that it really doesnt metter which one you use for the phone it self.

All, I work for Veveo Inc. who provide the vTap service. This is some interesting information regarding which data connections to use, and which ones not to use. We do know that there is a problem with the 125 version of the vTap client if you use some of the HTC ROMs. You will get the error metioned above when you try to play a clip. We have released a new version of the vTap client which should fix the problem so even if you have the proxy configured, you should still be abel to play clips. You can download this latest client by pointing the browser on your phone to www.vtap.com.

I hope this information helps!
