Is it possible to add DRM to a media file? (Ringtone Related)

Ok, I know there are tools to remove the protection from files you buy via the itunes store, but is there anyway to add that protection to a file?

I think the phone is perhaps looking for that protection to confirm the tone was bought via itunes, and that is the reason so many people are getting the silent tones.

So, anyone know if its possible to add the protection on?

I don't have any problems with mine ringtone added from iBrickr.
You can download SE DRM tool if you really want to add DR to yours. Good luck.

Are you still on 1.02 Frank? I should have mentioned I was on 1.1.1 I had no problems with tones on 1.02 either.

Sorry, I should have asked. I am still on 1.02. Here is SE free DRM in case you can't find it. Pretty straightforward. Just add files and click create DRM content:

Are you serious? I can add FairPlay v2 onto my files?

If this is true, then ringtones are next! I've experimented and I proved that DRM is required for the iPhone to PLAY the ringtones with latest software of both iTunes and iPhone.

EDIT:

-.-' I'm not going to even finish this response.
