Bell to include PC Card with Laptop bundle? (like sympatico+laptop bundle?)

Any plans for Bell to do this? Embedded or external cards/usb?

Some Sony TZ laptops in the USA include Sprint as the service.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

It would be a good idea! I know the Panasonic Toughbook line (which Bell offers to businesses) includes a built-in wireless card.

I find that Wimax is too big/need plug.. why does Wimax exist anyway... its like Wimax making 3G adaption slow...

I wish, many Dell laptops come with built in Telus EVDO.

Its not "Wimax". The service you're referring to is a proprietary technology owned by a company called "Nextnet", and is not compatible with the "Wimax" that will soon be available from Sprint and others.

True Wimax--when available--will utilize embedded or PC card radios similar to 802.11a/b/c/d/n networks.

The original purpose of Bell/Rogers' wireless broadband was to service rural users (though its available primarily in urban areas). Most people don't realize that rural (and some not so rural) regions still depend on dial-up--including many areas in southern Ontario. Wireless broadband appears to be the cheapest solution, as the promised rural DSL technology has failed to materialize.

Thanks jase88, I was going to say similarly. Blame Bell and others to lie about their products on ads etc. If you go to NextNet website, NextNet themselves never try to lie and fool anyone about their product technology (and they don't have to). They are indeed working towards WiMAX (note the capitalization) also, but that's a totally different thing.

The only thing that WiMAX and NextNet have in common is the licensed spectrum that they could be used (but don't have to ) in the same spectrum, that's about it.

When Fido launched iFido, and when Inukshuk launched the rural wireless service (the original licensed purpose), they never called it WiMAX.

WiMAX has gotten attention in the population and media because it's been pushed by big players, and so they are stealing the name for marketing sake, and think that customers are merely fools.

If Bell (and others) calls it WiFi it doesn't matter to them if it sells. But you and I know that it's not WiFi.

And I don't know how it can make 3G adaption (do you mean adoption?) slow? One is a mobile technology, and one is a stationary technology. The plan and the product price are all different. The way to use it is also different as NextNet has ethernet directly so it's much easier to use in a network environment. (don't tell me about 3G / EVDO router, that does not work in all situations).

Oh man, I remember how revolutionary it was at the time when Fido launched iFido...

You'd think by now we would have smaller modems sold here though lol.
