Getting my unlocked iPhone tomorrow, quick question

Hey everyone. I've been lurking in the iPhone forums for a couple weeks now and I finally decided to make the jump and get an unlocked iPhone with T-Mobile and the total internet package. It will be here tomorrow night. However, I do have a couple questions. Below is the software that I have installed on my computer right now:

-iBrickr package
-iPhone hack tool kit 1.0
-********* iPhone converter
-iPhone ringtone maker
-DVD-iphone-video converter
-PXL's (Apollo, installer 2.63, iswitcher, and taskbar notifier)

I realize that for the most part, I can ditch all the ringtone stuff now that I know how to use iBrickr. Now for the questions.

1) When I first plug in my iPhone, I assume iTunes will pop up and ask me to update, obviously I say no. At this point what will I be prompted to do? What should I and shouldn't I do? I just want to be sure not to ruin the unlock.

2) I have a 60gb iPod. I assume the iphone and ipo will both run off the same itunes which is fine, i just want to be sure my iphone won't just go and dump all my itunes songs onto it.

3) As far as Outlook contact sync goes, everything i've read has said to be it's been an absolute nightmare. I have decided to get this:
http://www.companionlink.com/products/iphone.html

I only really need to sync the first time, getting all my contacts (300+) from Outlook to the iPhone. From there I can just update them on the iPhone and backup using itunes. It's free for 14 days anyways. Anyone have any experience with this program?

All in all, I can't wait to get it. I've done phone hacking and modding in the past with Nextel's, then Blackberry's, but this is a whole nother level of advancement for me. Ultimately, my main goals at hand are to make sure I don't ruin the unlock, get it up and running with the programs I need and all my contacts are synced. All the NES stuff and what not is for the birds. I just don't have time for it.

Thanks everyone for your help in advance, I look forward to hanging out in my new HoFo home!!

The only thing I want to comment on is syncing with outlook. I synced with no problem, and I have over 1,100 contacts. My calendar syncs perfectly. Contacts/appointments put on the phone appear in outlook and vice versa. It syncs with outlook just as good as WM phones, with the exception of notes and to do list.

If you have an iPod then you already know how the interface works. You have the same options to chose media to put on the iphone as you do on the iPod.

it will appear in iTunes just like a new iPod. You'l chose each tab and tell it what you want and dont want.

The previous post explained the contacts (I'm synced to a Mac so I'm nit a good source)

The only advice I have is to skip the free unlock (anySim) and buy a license from IPSF for $60. It will allow you to update, and it will not damage the firmware on the phone.

The phone is from someone I know and is already unlocked. For now it will do, correct?

Also, as far as syncing, I have Microsoft Outlook 2002. I've read that iTunes will not sync with Outlook 2002. I'm downloading the new Outlook right now. Hopefully everything will sync without a problem.

EDIT:
Wow, ok, this is beyond irritating. I have downloaded two different versions of MS's Office 2007, both of which say they include Outlook 2007, and once extracted, neither contained it. Anyone have any clue where I could get an updated version of Outlook so that my sync will work? This is beyond frustrating.

Thanks!

You probably should BUY office. I use outlook 2003, I am unfamiliar with outlook 2002.

Sorry, not looking to spend $300+ for Office 2007 just to sync my contacts. I have no need to burn money away. I was simply looking for a LEGAL FREE TRAIL, not illegal warez.

If I had 2003, this obviously wouldn't be a problem, but I don't. Hence the reference to the other software made earlier.

On another note, what is the difference between the free unlock that was done on the one I have and the IPSF unlock?

AnySIM and iUnlock were patched to make a routine exit with 0 (successful) to unlock the phone. Only problem was that that routine is NOT only called by NCK but rather by about six routines total. The other five didn't expect 00 to be there and were therefore spammed across your BB during upgrade. In short, the wrong bytes were patched and now you're all bricked. No, it wasn't Apple's fault.
IPSF on the other hand performs the unlock the same way the Apple or AT&T would if they were to provide you an unlock code.

So, in short: Free unlock bricks your phone when you update to 1.1.1 (Which you would want to do since it syncs with Office email BTW) IPSF doesn't.

iPhone that have used the free unlock methods (anySIM/iUnlock) trust me we are working hard on a new unlock that will work just like IPSF that will be free.
