so i want to get my phone working with just my att sim card without running an anysim or iunlock. hows this happen? i thought jailbreaking and activating was enough to just stick an att sim card in. anyone???

Yes, that's all you need. Depending on your firmware version, just use any of the methods described here and stop at the "if you don't wish to unlock your phone, stop here" point.

Unless you have a data plan I'd recommend the Services app from iBrickr to turn off EDGE data charges.

i think the problem is the phone used to be a prepaid phone with an att account after i restore the phone and connect to itunes itll tell me " the sim card installed is not a supported att sim card"

Doesn't matter. it's the SIM that's installed in it now that it's looking at. That's why you need to force activation.

There are several guides here for activating a 1.1.1 firmware phone with a non standard AT&T SIM

its 1.0.2 i dont know theres somethin weird going on here cause ive messed with a couple iphones before restored with whichever sim in them and never seen this before
