In my message I said exactly this: "May I please have the SIM Subsidy unlock code for this device so I may use another carrier's Pre-paid SIM in the phone when I travel?" The IMEI number is: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX The line this is used on is: XXX-XXX-XXX The model is an AT&T Tilt Thank you very much for your time." (of course the phone number is probably not necessary as it's included from the auto generated email) The response: "I have submitted a request for the release of the subsidy unlock code for your wireless phone. Normally, this request takes five to seven business days for this request to be sent to you. At that time, you will receive an email with the code and the instructions on how to unlock your phone." Sometimes it takes a full week. Sometimes less. Either way consider this the slow low-hassle method and the phone number the faster method. I'm in no rush whatsoever and it's more convenient for me to send the email at 11pm than to call during the day. |

It takes longer to do it this way than by calling though. My unlock code should be on the way in a few days. I've unlocked other phones this way. |
