I currently have a Blackjack and like it but love trying new phones and am considering:

BB 8820
BB Curve
Tilt

I use this for work email (IMAP) and was wondering what your thoughts were on these devices. Is not having 3G a huge deal with the saturation of WiFi points today ? Only thing I was not that impressed about was 8800 series still not having a camera.

Also the 8820 is UMA supported right so that it at least supports simultaneous GSM voice with WiFi data ?

best thing to me about 3g versus wifi is mobility. yea you can be in the coffe shop browsing the net but as soon as you jump in your car and get too far from the access point you will disconnect. even if it tries to connect to a new access point you'll still have to wait for that to go thru.

my personal opinion would be get the tilt

wifi+3g+gps+camera+touchscreen. cant beat that with the blackberries

no contest if you have the money a tilt.. wifi,3g,gps,touchscreen,3mp camera,better keyboard,faster processor,more programs available the list goes on and on...check out the curve 8310 titanium or red gps and all the features of a curve but same price...im not a fan of the 8820 big bulky and has gps and wifi but no camera..

I like all the feature set of the tilt, little concerned about long term durability of the unit, plus I am a full size or qwerty keyboard kind of guy so give that a plus but like it readily available to type when needed. I must admit I was a little interested in the Iphone too but the three things that turn me off to that were 1) soldered non user replaceable battery, 2) battery life, 3) cannot easily switch providers, 4) no 3g.

This is a tough one alright, luckily I get the premier discounts but still cold hard cash we're all parting with

The Tilt is great...it has wifi, 3g, GPS, and a decent camera. I still like the keyboard on my 8300 better though.
