Mysteriously Lost SMS Messages (or my iPhone ate my TXT MSGs)

I've just noticed something odd. We have a trouble ticket system where I work. When someone submits a ticket it e-mails it to me at number@txt.att.net. It also sends it to some Verizon phones we have, as well as a few other iPhones. I usually receive them ok, however, on more than one occasion the iPhones have not received the messages when the Verizon phones do. Today I didn't receive two TXTs on my iPhone that another iPhone user in our company did receive.... HOWEVER.... my iPhone happened to be sitting next to my desk speakers both times the trouble tickets were submitted, and I happened to hear the trademark AT&T 'tick tick brrrrrrrr tick brrrrrr tick tick' from my speakers (BOTH TIMES!), however the SMS never arrived.

Any ideas?

UPDATE:
Apple asked me to reboot my iPhone. I did that, and and now I'm getting SMS messages. The lady said I should reboot my iPhone daily. I explained to her that my MacBook gets rebooted once a month, if that, and that I understood that the phone runs OS-X. She said, yes, the phone is different, it requires a reboot or it gets wonky.

Anyone else have any experience?

Reboot means holding the power and home button and then keep holding them until it turns back on right? lol. Just making sure....

Make sure you don't have a buttload of SMS messages... it has a limit to how many it can save. Clear a few out and see if that works.

I have only three so that is not the problem.
