Download it by pointing your BlackBerry browser to:

Posted by: blacksrt4guy

Yeah from what I see it looks like an issue with at&t and 8820's for some reason.

Hi Folks,

Good to see the word has spread here . We are the Live Search for Mobile Team and we'll be monitoring this thread from time to time to provide feedback/support. We'll also post some FAQ's soon.

As for the download problems above, we suggest using the BlackBerry Browser ("Internet Browser" or "Browser") instead of the MEdia Net or AT&T/Cingular one. Do let us know if it still fails.

Thanks!
LSMobile

It failed for me too using the Internet Browser, WiFi Browser and Blackberry browser.

Please read the FAQ if you experience trouble downloading or using the application at:

Sincerely,
LSMobile

I came to enjoy Live Search when I was using a Windows Mobile phone (PN-820). In fact, I enjoyed it much more than Google Maps and Yahoo Go. Now that I'm happily back to my trusty 7130e, I was pretty excited when I saw the news in one of my BB feeds. In my opinion, Live Search is the best mobile information tool out there (yes, even better than Berry411). There's a lot of decent information at your fingertips, and the system works quite well. The only thing I wish it included was weather.

I got mine to load using the plain Blackberry Browser instead of the Media Net one. Its pretty nice, clean and loads fast. I prefer the blinking blue dot that Google Maps uses to the cross-hair approach of Live Search. But it has some very nice features.

Just downloaded Live to my 8820 and it works fine so far. Was able to detect GPS location and find a couple of different locations using my GPS.
So far so good.

ive tried every browser on my phone and still can not get this to download and install.

I tried DL'ing it on Bell (8830) and it DL's fine. However, it won't connect.

It was working last night, now, every time I do a search, it instantly brings up "Sorry, we couldn't complete your search request. Please check your network connections"...

anyone have any ideas what is wrong? Are there settings I need to input?

I'm on a Pearl, with T-Mobile.

Thanks!

thanks ls mobile,works great.

does anyone know if there is a non OTA option (alx/cod) to try to install this?

Posted by: veks

i guess someone is fixing the server or a lot of people are trying to dl this app.

Posted by: alsam

I had the problem for a bit on my ATT 8310. I did get it installed late yesterday. It seems to be quite an improvement over google, and could give the yahoo 2 a run for it's money. I'll keep posting as I use it more.
I do wish it was easier to set the default for location to gps.

No luck installing onto my unlocked 8820 -- tried each browser and seemed to download successfully *but* got "install failed" following each installation attempt.

No problem installing onto my TMobile 8320.

I have not been able still to install on my 8820 either. Glad to see Im not the only one. I have also tried all the different browsers. I have pretty much given up on trying to get this downloaded and installed.

Posted by: geekaren

Was able to successfully install onto my 8820 after installing updated firmware.

What version did you load (apps and platform), Options>about?

Posted by: naplesbill

I just downloaded it on my ATT 8310. One thing of note, I had my Blackberry browser set to IE mode and the wls.live.com only offered Windows Mobile versions for download. I set the browser back to blackberry and it correctly offered a Blackberry browser version and it downloaded and installed correctly.

ive got live search i my 8320 i like it beter than google but its missing the option to get an address from your contacts...i like that feature when i had the dash

Posted by: hwnstyle21

Live Search loaded fine pre-OS update. Post OS update it just fails. Oh well. I like the re-worked layout.... identical to the WM layout. The option to get contact addy and option to "save to contacts" is really missed. Due to the fact I can't get Live Search loaded I went with Beyond411 which has a more simple/text layout but very informative and gives the option to "save to contacts". Both are great apps.
