8525 Goes online???

Hi all

my 8525 will sit just fine for a while. then when i grab it again maybe a couple of hours later, i see that it has "gone online" meaning the E or 3G icon shows right and down arrows. there appears to be no action going on. now granted this doesn't actually cost me money with the data plan, but it would run down the battery faster. i can easily tap the icon and disonnect but don't know what made it go online in the first place.

Can anyone explain why this happens?
