tilt for only 149???

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Maybe this is old news but I just saw a post on xda that you can get the tilt (with 2 year agreement to att) for only 149. Considering if you buy through att with 2 year agreement you are being charged 399, that is one hell of a deal.

Is there a downside to this offer that I am not seeing or should I return my tilt to att and get it through newegg?

i just checked that and you don't. In fact, you don't have to sign up for any data plan (just call minutes).

I'm curious if you can upgrade 2yr. I would love to get it at that price, obviously!!

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...pk=tilt%2bphone

Seems like they are not checking if you are eligable for an upgrade? Anyone else agree?

There also out of stock.

Shows as "In Stock" right now. Allows me to add to cart and shows $149 with only a voice plan in the cart with it.

Yeah, I checked it out too and it seems to say that it IS $150 with one of the individual plans associated. There seems to be a family plan "coming soon" which is probably what i'll be waiting for... can anyone confirm on any catches or complications in going through with this through newegg? Coincidently I had planned on buying 400 dollars worth of computer parts but if I get this I wouldn't have to pay for it in 6 months because I have a newegg preferred account and my total would exceed 500 dollars.

showing as Out of stock for me

Yeah please let me know if you can get this deal if you are a current ATT customer out of contract. I asked a Newegg rep and they said you could, but im not buying it. I started the purchase process and it started asking me questions like I wasnt an ATT customer. It didnt seem like it was even a consideration. I had to fill out "ATT approval" information to continue.

Is this still the best price?? Also can I just add the MM200 when I get the phone or is there a trick you have to do for that?

Ok, apparently it's hard to believe the company that is selling you stuff and read through the whole thread on the what's yes and no.

So here's my take, what happened to me and what I had to go through, if you are still skeptical with Newegg's deal, then just go somewhere else

- I'm a current AT&T customer that was eligible for upgrade, I am on an individual plan not family plan.
- I read through this and other thread about Newegg's deal
- I did a bunch of research comparing prices among amazon.com, letstalk.com and others.
- I read on about how to upgrade through newegg
- I then chatted with their csr online and logged the conversation
- it was very cleared to me how to do it and that if I'm on a family plan it is not available
- I ordered my Tilt for $174.99 (and it seems ths was a week ago's price, now it's $149.99...grrrr) (on my order, I went with the 500mins plan + medianet data plan - NOTE: you do NOT need to choose a data plan, but you MUST maintain your account up to date aka pay your bill before due date and can not change your plan to anything cheaper that you've selected, but you can upgrade to higher plan if need to, within the first 6 months - per their agreement)
- that evening I called Newegg to make sure they got my order placed
- next day I got an email stating they'll be checking with ATT to make sure it is approved
- that evening, I got email stating it was approved, however, I need to agree that they will be deactivating my old phone and that I'll lose service for a few days
- I agreed on that, and then got another email that I was approved
- next day I lost internet connection
- 2 days later it shows it was finally shipped, and I lost phone service, people who called me during that time got a recording stating that my # is not available. (I also checked online and it said my account was suspended)
- after the weekend, my phone finally arrived
- plug in the power cord, put the new sim card in, tried to dial my home phone number and instead the home rings, I got a recording that I had to follow and agree the terms and condition and then viola, my new phone was activated.
- played with att rom for 2 hours then flashed to dutty's tilt rom beta 2 and loving every minute of it.

so yea, if you are individual, and you are eligible for upgrade, the Newegg most likely will be the best choice since it only requires you to sign up with a voice plan (unlike the others like Amazon or letstalk that requires a data plan as well).
