i have just purchased a new keypad for the s500 from cnn.cn
and im going to change it out myself..
just wondering if there is diy instructions for taking apart the s500..
i have done in the past t610 and have all the right tools.. such as torx driver and flat removal tool thing..
if there isnt a diy.. has anyone done it yet and whats the difficulty?

you see the black bar at the bottom of the keypad bout an inch long, 1/4 of inch thick? stick your nail under the top left side of the plastic bar and pop it off. then pull out you keypad. can you do me a favor? pm me if your keyboard doesnt crack, cuz i wanna know if the ones from cnn are good ones.

PLEASE tell us if these cnn.cn keypads crack or not!
Also, to disassemble it's quite easy. Crack open the black thing, then pry out the keypad.

it would probably be useful if the keypads came in packs of 5 or more....just in case.

I wonder what's making all these S500 keypads crack. It doesn't seem like SE to have cheap quality keypads... Maybe it's a production fault? GMP anyone? Lol.

Nevertheless, the S500 looks damn sexy!

sorry guys for the long reply..
i've been away..

anyways.. last week i ordered the s500 keypad from cnn and they are good..
im a heavy texter and so far within this week they are still fine. no signs of any crack..

installing is easy.. just take off the black plastic on the bottom of the keypad and pull out the keypad.. the new ones just stick on..

il let u guys know about the keypad too, my sisters geting the w580i fone next week, it may hav similiar probs(why the hell she buying it? sure beats the hell of me)

i've got the S500 keypad on order and the instructions, and i'll post after i've attempted this. honestly, it'll be worth the $15 if i don't have to deal with shipping my phone off.

hey guys.. sorry for the delay in posting up on the thread..
since november.. i've had the keypad from cnn.cn..
im a heavy texter and so far no problems with the keypad cracking..
its well worth the money and i ordered 3 just in case..
im still on my first one.. lol
the install was a breeze.. i had pictures when i was planning to do a diy but i got a new computer and lost all my data..
hope this helps and if you guys have any more questions about ordering or install please let me know.. i'll be glad to help..

Can you reuse keypads? I have a dead W580i, I want to reuse its keypad since its not cracked, but I feel if I peel it off, its gonna get all screwed up and I can't reuse it.

so i've been trying to pop off the bottom part for about 5 minutes and i've been unsuccessful. i'm even trying to force it off but it won't "pop off" easily.
