Best phone for resale purposes - already have a good phone - new line of service...

Trying to figure out what the best phone is to buy for resale.
Background. I recently switched to AT&T to get an iPhone. First I got a Samsung Sync with a new contract. Later I went and got the iPhone. Getting ready to switch my wife over from Sprint and onto my plan. She'll be getting the Sync.
I figured I could get a nice phone with the new line of service and then immediately sell it on ebay.
What's the best deal going for this?
Looks like I can get a Sony Erricson W580i for free at Amazon.com. Can't quite figure out how to order it by adding it to my plan and converting to a family plan.
Anything else I should know? Comments?
