8525 or BJ

I currently have a Blackjack and have had some radio problems, but overall I love it. (I do hate all the dust under the screen) I can get a 8525 for $75 on the premier website. My questions is that for those that have had both should I? I am not really interested in the Tilt as it will cost me 3x as much. I mainly use my BJ for internet, email and text. That would also be the main use for the 8525.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Okay, that was confusing to me and I wrote it. No wonder I got no replies. (For some reason, I cannot edit my first post.) I am asking is the BJ or 8525 a better phone to have.

Personally, I would hold out a day or two longer... Better not make the decision until determining what the existing BJ users think of the new WM6 upgrade once it becomes available. My reason for stating this is primarily motivated by the need to tether the device to a laptop or pda.

If this is not of any concern for you the next question to ask yourself is do you have a PDA already? Once you get used to having a stylus & touch screen, it sucks having to do without one. I am still trying to get used to my recent exposure to the BJ's WM6 leaked "Standard." If you are any bit technically inclined, I would say to go for the Blackjack simply because we might find the necessary workarounds to whatever problem after the new update.

Otherwise, stick with the 8525! One of my co-workers and I occasionally compete with one another as to who's phone is best - and this is what he has. Given a few more weeks however, you'll be disappointed you bought now. Another HTC handset with 640 x 480 resolution, touch screen, and it's 3G is being released soon. It's sure to win the hearts and souls of any geek.

Hope this helped,

Chris

I use the BJ during the day because the form factor is just more convenient. I use the 8125 at home so I can have a bigger screen for reading things and use WiFi instead of slower mobile data. I use whichever one I am in the mood for and that is probably something you can do as well if you don't have to sell the BJ.

I have both the blackjack and the 8525 and I think it really all depends on your specific needs. Are you a power user that needs the extra functionality along with the stylus and touchscreen? If your main uses are limited to texting, email and light internet use, then I would definitely recommend staying with the blackjack. The 8525/Tilt is a chubby piece of hardware and definitely not on the light side. If you aren't a power user and don't need access to many 3rd party applications that only work on PDA/non-smartphone's then I don't really see a worthwhile reason to switch unless you are just tired of the blackjack. Even though I love my 8525/Tilt and use it for virtually everything I do, I miss the form factor of the blackjack.

i just started using an 8525 about 3weeks ago and really like it. i had a treo 680 before. my wife has a black jack and it is a nice phone but for me i like the 8525 much better. blackjack is an easier phone to use. keep that in mind.
