Syncing Blackberry with Windows

When you sync your blackberry with a PC, what program does it sync with? Where do your calendar events/contacts/memos/etc. go? Does it sync with outlook or a blackberry program? If there is a blackberry program, how is it?

Thanks.

Well, I have BB desktop manager that controls the sync. My calendar events/contacts/memos/etc sync with MS Outlook.

There is no BlackBerry program like Palm Desktop.

The included Desktop Manager has a program called Intellisync. Intellisync allows you to sync your contacts, notes, tasks and calendar with a number of popular PC based personal information managers. Most people use Outlook, but you can use a few others (Lotus Notes, Lotus Organizer and a handful more).

Great, thanks. Does a license for Outlook come with the phone (like WM phones)? Or do you buy it separately?

And, would you say Outlook is the best option? By best, I mean syncs with the least problems, easiest to use, nicest interface, etc?

Thanks a lot.

You buy it separately.

WM does NOT come with a license for Outlook. It comes with Pocket Outlook on the device itself. We are talking about Microsoft Outlook, which comes as part of the Microsoft Office desktop software. That does not come with the BlackBerry.

Many people use it as it is a corporate standard. Easy? I can't answer that for you.

Its Easy if it BES. I only had it for like 4 days and I love it

BlackJacks come with a license for Outlook (a disc and product key, for a pc). I guess it's not common for all WM devies.

I wonder why RIM doesnt have a PIM lite program similar to the Palm desktop. The Palm desktop was a decent way to manage/sync data to a PC.

Exactly, I was looking for something like Palm Desktop.

for best results you need to use Outlook. Outlook express comes on windows computers and will work but will only do your contacts.
