Any ideas why my Tilt's screen will just randomly turn itself on while sitting on my desk? I am not receiving a call or text, and I do not have anything set to automatically access the internet. It happens on occasion. 2 days ago it did it while charging and I happened to wake up and saw it on, now it just did it while sitting on my computer desk. I'm not sure what's going on!!

is it hooked up to active sync?

I've never hooked it up to the computer to sync it, however the active sync program is sometimes running on the phone for some reason. Could this be what the problem is?

This happens with all phones as far as i know. Sometimes it receives a network (SIM) update which triggers the light to turn on but then it goes off again after it's normal timeout. Sometimes i am laying in bed too and see my Blackjack light up and i figure i'm getting a text or a call but nope. The SIM update wont give you any alert, it's just invisible to the user.

If you are using an email service (Xpress Mail, POP3, IMAP), it will light up when you have received new mail.

I hate to dig this back up out of the grave, but this started happening to my phone this weekend. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am using active sync with exchange 2007. Out of nowhere the backlight just turns on. This has been happening for 2 days now. I had 2 months of no issues until now.

I got it figured out NEVER USE THE BUILT IN IM PROGRAM with the tilt. AT&T messages come in text message. The messages never came in, just turned the backlight on. I ended up having to change my MSN password and logging in and out of my PC.

Check the notifications list. I bet it still has all sorts of notifications listed. If you trim this list down you will see the screen power up a lot less.

Also, if you tap the on/off button it will power down the display until you actually receive a call and improve your battery life.
